Stand and Be Recognized…

By / May 23, 2017 / / 0 Comments

On May 1, 2017 the Amelia Whelahan award was presented to one of Oswego County Opportunities’ outstanding employees. Looking for staff who stand apart from the rest through their dedication and astounding contributions within their Human Services profession, the OCO sets the bar high when they select an annual recipient. This year’s Amelia Whelahan Leadership Award recipient was Sara Gozzi, an Educator/Trainer for Services to Aid Families (SAF). Ms. Gozzi works within one of the many programs offered by OCO, specifically employed in Crisis & Development Services. Also, on the first day of May, another individual was awarded as well. Julie Forbes, a volunteer with OCO Literacy Volunteers, was presented with the 2017 Howard Wilcox Volunteer of the Year Award. This award is given each year to an exceptional volunteer, recognizing that individual’s unsurpassed efforts when dedicating their time and of course talents to an OCO program. Congratulations to both of these recipients and thank you to Oswego County Opportunities for taking time out of the year to recognize them!
