April 9, 2004
The Research and Acquisitions (ARA) line of business Cost Accounting System (CAS/Labor Distribution Reporting (LDR) Team recently received a 2003 ARA Award for Business Excellence. This letter is to recognize the critical contributions Adsystech, Inc. and BAE Systems, Inc. made to this achievement through its employees Mr. Charles Thomas, Mr. Frederick Miller, and Mr. Hanifa Maricar to the Team’s achievement. Their excellent support and contributions in the field of System Administration were instrumental in the LDR’s program successful, on-time implementation and broad acceptance by all ARA personnel. This letter is also to recognize the continuing, outstanding contributions made by Mr. Thomas, Mr. Miller and Mr. Maricar in the field of System Administration.
As the CAS/LDR Systems Administration Team Lead since program inception, Mr. Thomas continues to provide the visionary leadership and inspiration that resulted in the successful development and deployment of the ARA CAS/LDR Website, CodeFinder Toolset, and Labor Reports. Mr. Thomas models a customer-focused, "Can Do" attitude, and creative thinking. He has excellent interpersonal skills, including much-needed tact, patience, and persistence. Some of his key contributions to the CAS/LDR program include:
- Co-developed the original ARA CAS/LDR Website
- Assisted in converting the original MS Access Forms-based CodeFinder to the excellent Web-based tool that today support our managers and Quality Assurance Resources (QARs)
- Instrumental in helping the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Corporate reports development team create the FAA-wide labor reports
- Developed many specialized reports for particular management needs
- Assisted in the development of the CodeFinder Toolset
- Provided hands-on and classroom training for ARA managers and QARs on the LDR tools
Beyond his support for the ARA CAS/LDR Team as System Administration Team Lead and subject matter expert, Mr. Thomas lent his assistance to the development of an Oracle Web-based tracking tool to aid the new Air Traffic Organization (ATO) Financial Systems group in building a much-needed matrix of all the financial systems.
Mr. Maricar has been with the Systems Administration Team since it’s early days. Over time, he’s evolved into the research and development (R&D) "section" of the Team. Thanks to Mr. Maricar’s research on new development in Web programs, the Team was able to create new and exciting functionality in our Web-based tools like CodeFinder. Some of Mr. Maricar’s key contributions to the CAS/LDR program include:
- Co-developed the original ARA CAS/LDR Website
- Assisted in converting the original MS Access Forms-based CodeFinder to the excellent Web-based tool that today supports our managers and QARs
- Co-developed the Web-based ARA Management Matrix
- Assisted in converting DAFIS Projects & Activities to DELPHI Projects & Tasks
- Set-up the entire Resource Planning Document Enrollment System
- Developed a Web-based Content Management Website to allow the CAS/LDR Program Manager to directly update the website
Beyond his support for the ARA CAS/LDR Team, Mr. Maricar lent his assistance to the development of an Oracle Web-based tracking tool to aid the ATO Financial Systems group in building a much-needed matrix of all the financial systems.
Again, I thank Adsystech, Inc, and BAE Systems, Inc. for the excellent service provided by Mr. Charles Thomas, Mr. Frederick Miller, and Mr. Hanifa Maricar.
We would never have been able to successfully bring ARA up on the FAA-wide LDR program on schedule or convert from DAFIS to DELPHI without their superb performance.
Sincerely,
J. Robbins Tucker, Jr.
