Friday, December 15th, marked HUD’s 25th year in helping families become self sufficient in Illinois! The Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) Program began in the early 1990’s, and its main focus is to assist families in increasing their income and decreasing dependence on welfare and other assistance programs. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of FSS HUD awarded $75 million to continue helping people and funding the program. Congrats to HUD! To read more about the 25th anniversary of FSS visit Hud.gov.
